We do not rank facilities or call any "the best": choose by distance, your insurance and a doctor's advice.

In an emergency

  1. Call the local emergency number or your hotel: 112 works in Indonesia, and an ambulance can also be requested on 118 or 119; check these numbers before you leave.
  2. Call your insurer: it may direct you to a partner hospital and give a payment guarantee.
  3. Keep your passport, policy and the insurer's phone number handy.
  4. Traffic in Bali can double a journey: an ambulance is not always faster than a taxi for a minor case.

Dentist

For a dental emergency, call the clinic before travelling, since dental hours are not always the same as emergency hours. Keep quotes in writing. There is no national price list: ask the price before treatment.

Cost and insurance

We give no prices: no official, dated tariff was read. Always ask for a written quote. Read travel insurance for Bali: scooters, risky activities and evacuation are often excluded or capped. A health and evacuation plan for long-term travellers, such as SafetyWing, does not cover trip cancellation.
