Nusa Dua: beaches, luxury resorts, Water Blow and what to do
Nusa Dua is the luxury-resort area in south-east Bali, on the Bukit peninsula: light-sand beaches protected by a reef, large hotels, a coastal promenade and little traffic compared with Kuta or Seminyak. It is a calm, organised area, better suited to families and comfortable stays than to nightlife or surfing. Guides checked in October 2026 describe Pantai Mengiat (the Nusa Dua beach), Geger Beach and the Water Blow as the three main visits; the prices below are indicative and unofficial.
Highlights

The beaches
Nusa Dua Beach (Pantai Mengiat) is the resort beach: light sand, calm water thanks to a reef about 500 m long, sunbeds and water sports. Geger Beach, to the south, is quieter, with a temple on a coral hill and warungs renting sunbeds for around 50,000 rupiah.

The Water Blow
Waves rush into a crack in the cliff and burst up in sprays of several metres (8 to 15 m according to guides). It is most spectacular at high or mid tide, with a swell. Stay on the platforms: the ground is slippery and you will get wet.
The coastal promenade
A paved path of about 7 km runs along the beaches and hotel gardens: good for walking or cycling, early morning or late afternoon.
Practical info
Tips
- Access to the public beaches is free (parking fees may apply at the Water Blow). The hotels are large resorts with their own beaches: on a tight budget the area suits less than Ubud or Canggu. For eating and shopping, a shopping centre, the Bali Collection, is mentioned by guides. Boat activities (parasailing, banana boat) are offered on the beach: check prices before agreeing. To compare areas, see where to stay in Bali; nearby are Garuda Wisnu Kencana park and Uluwatu. This information comes from travel guides, not from an official site.
How to get there
Nusa Dua is close to the airport, about 20 to 30 minutes by road depending on traffic (estimate), which makes it a good choice for a late arrival or departure. Taxi or private transfer: see from the airport to Ubud, Canggu or Seminyak and private driver in Bali.
