Pandawa Beach (Bali): entry fee, opening hours, swimming and paragliding

Updated on October 26, 2026

Pandawa Beach, in south Bali (the Bukit peninsula, Kutuh side), is a long stretch of pale sand below a limestone cliff that has been cut into a passage, with statues of the Mahabharata heroes. Entry is about 15,000 IDR according to most guides consulted in October 2026 (some say 8,000 to 18,000, one says 50,000), plus parking (about 2,000 IDR for a scooter, 5,000 IDR for a car). Announced hours are 7:00 to 19:00 per two sources and 8:00 to 18:00 per another; no official source found, so confirm at the ticket booth. Allow 2 to 3 hours on site, half a day with paragliding.

Highlights

The cliff and the statues

The cliff and the statues

The road drops through a cut in the limestone, with statues of the Pandavas (Yudhisthira, Bima, Nakula…): a photo stop before the beach, with a view over the bay.

The beach

The beach

A wide beach of pale sand, with parasols and small food huts on the sand; at weekends it fills with Indonesian visitors.

Paragliding

Tandem flights usually take off from the Timbis site above the beach and land on the sand at Pandawa; allow about 15 minutes in the air. A local guide quotes 900,000 IDR for a tandem flight, and online offers seen in October 2026 range from about 33 to 61 USD depending on the operator and package (transfer, video): compare what is included. Some operators refuse people who are afraid of heights or weigh more than 118 kg. For other water activities nearby, see water sports at Tanjung Benoa.

Practical info

Tips

  • Pay in cash. Bring sunscreen, a hat and water: there is little shade on the sand and the huts are pricey. Check the flags and ask the lifeguards before swimming (no reliable source found on sea conditions through the year). Paragliding depends on the wind: book a flexible slot and keep some slack in your plan. For other beaches in the south, see Dreamland Beach, Melasti and Nusa Dua.

How to get there

Pandawa is about 30 to 45 minutes by car from Nusa Dua or Jimbaran (estimate, traffic permitting) and about 1 h 15 to 1 h 30 from Ubud (estimate). Private driver, or scooter for experienced riders; see private driver in Bali and scooter rental in Bali.

Opening hours

Best: Morning, before the crowds
Daily, about 7:00 to 19:00 per two guides (other sources: 8:00 to 18:00); entry about 15
