The Bali tourist levy
It is set by Provincial Regulation No. 2 of 2025, which amends the 2023 one, and applies to international tourists. The official Love Bali page, consulted on 24 October 2026, gives the amount as IDR 150,000. You pay by choosing "single" or "group", entering your name, e-mail, passport number, country and arrival date, then paying by bank transfer, virtual account or QRIS; the voucher is sent by e-mail. The page also offers an exemption request without detailing the criteria: ask Love Bali support if you think you qualify. The exchange rate applied is the one shown at payment, and your bank may add fees.
The visa
According to the guides consulted in October 2026, most travellers get a 30-day visa on arrival (or an online e-visa) for IDR 500,000, extendable once online. The list of eligible countries, the required passport validity and the exact fee must be checked on the official immigration portal before departure: we could not confirm them on an official page. One outlet reports that a fee increase was proposed in August 2026; it was not confirmed at our last check.
How to avoid mistakes
- Fake sites: sites imitate the official portal; type the address yourself and do not follow an advert.
- Pay once: if the payment seems not to go through, wait about ten minutes before trying again, according to the official page.
- Keep the voucher: keep the QR code or PDF on your phone.
