Penglipuran Village in Bali: Traditional Village, Bamboo Forest, Price and Hours
Penglipuran is a traditional village in the Bangli area of east-central Bali, known for its single street lined with identical houses and its bamboo forest. A 2026 guide gives about IDR 50,000 for a foreign adult (30,000 for a child) and hours of 8:00 to 18:30; other sources quote 8:00 to 17:00 or 18:00 and fees between IDR 25,000 and 50,000: confirm at the gate. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours on site (October 2026).
Highlights
The main street
A long sloping lane, clean and vehicle-free, with identical entrance gates on both sides. The village is quoted as one of the cleanest in the world, which explains its postcard look.
The bamboo forest
A bamboo grove at the edge of the village. No extra charge was found: it seems included in the entry ticket, but nothing official confirms it.
The temple and village life
The main temple is at the top of the street. People live in these houses: be discreet and do not photograph interiors without permission.
