Celuk, Bali's Silversmith Village: Silver Jewellery, Prices and a Workshop (2026)

Updated on October 25, 2026

Celuk is Bali's main goldsmith and silversmith village, about 4 km south-west of the Sukawati district, on the road between Batubulan and Ubud. Galleries line the main street; price tags are in dollars and often rupiah, from pendants at IDR 50,000 to large pieces around IDR 15 million. To make a piece yourself, the most-booked workshop on GetYourGuide lasts 3 hours, from about 43 USD, rated 4.9 from about 185 reviews (October 2026).

Highlights

The silver galleries

The silver galleries

Shops along the main street sell rings, bracelets and pendants, often made in the workshops behind. Prices depend on the weight of silver and the fineness of the work. Haggling is common: one guide suggests opening at half the tag price. (Photo: the nearby Sukawati market, a few kilometres away.)

The half-day workshop

Several workshops teach you to make a ring or pendant. The most-booked offer lasts 3 hours, with tools, materials, a piece to take home, a snack and water; gemstones are paid for on site. The silver weight included varies by listing (1 to 5 g or up to 7 g) and extra is charged on site; gold plating is about IDR 200,000 per ring according to one listing. Not for children under 7.

To combine

The Batubulan barong dance and the Sukawati art market are very close: one half-day.

Practical info

Tips

  • Roadside galleries often pay commissions to drivers and guides who bring groups: compare two or three shops before buying. Ask for the silver weight and purity and weigh the piece. Another workshop listing, in a different village, is not in Celuk: check the meeting point. For gift ideas, see souvenirs in Bali.

How to get there

On the road between Batubulan and Ubud, about 20 to 30 minutes from Ubud by car (estimate). A half-day driver lets you chain Batubulan, Celuk and Sukawati (private driver in Bali).

Opening hours

Best: Morning, workshop before lunch
No official hours found: galleries generally open during the day. Workshops: book ahead, 3 hours.
