Suluban Beach (Blue Point) in Uluwatu: Steps, Tide, Entrance and Surf (2026)
Suluban Beach, also called Blue Point, is a small beach at the foot of a cliff at Pecatu, near Uluwatu. You go down about 100 steps cut into the rock, then through a narrow gap between boulders; at the bottom there are no sunbeds or facilities. Entry is free or IDR 5,000 to 20,000 depending on the source, parking about IDR 5,000 (scooter) and 10,000 to 15,000 (car) (unofficial, October 2026). Go at low tide: there is the most sand and rock pools; at high tide, part of the cove is submerged.
Highlights

The cove and the cliff
A pale-sand beach between limestone cliffs, reached by steps and a cave-like passage. At low tide, small coves and rock pools open up around the main inlet.
The wave
A left-hand point break, from a few feet up to big swells in season: for experienced surfers only. Beginners watch from the cliff.
The bar at the top
The Single Fin bar overlooks the beach, with ocean views: it is the sunset spot, crowded in the late afternoon. Other nearby beaches: Dreamland and the Uluwatu beaches.
Practical info
Tips
- No facilities at the bottom: bring water, a towel and a snack. The pay toilets are halfway down (IDR 2,000 to 5,000). The climb back is steep and uneven: leave before dark. Guides disagree on entry; one source says nobody asks if you are only walking toward Single Fin; keep small change. Our sources do not cover swimming: watch the swell and the tide.
How to get there
At Pecatu, in the south of the Bukit peninsula, next to Single Fin. Parking on site (scooter 5,000 IDR, car 10,000-15,000 IDR). A driver makes the Uluwatu day easier (private driver in Bali).
