Virgin Beach (Karangasem, Bali): access, price, swimming and what to do in the east
Virgin Beach, also called Pantai Pasir Putih or Perasi, is a white-sand beach in the Karangasem district of east Bali, quieter than the southern beaches. The guides consulted in October 2026 give different prices: about 20,000 IDR per adult and 10,000 IDR per child, parking included (a 2026 fee roundup), while another quotes 10,000 IDR for Indonesians and 15,000 IDR for foreigners; hours about 7:00 to 18:00. Unofficial prices, to be confirmed; pay in cash.
Highlights

The white-sand beach
A bay of pale sand, with clear water and fishing boats, far from the southern crowds. Warungs and sunbeds exist according to guides, but the beach stays quiet on weekdays.
A second, more local entrance
There are two entrances: via the Bukit Asah road (parking closer to the sand, generally preferred) and via the Perasi road (quieter, smaller parking, sometimes a rougher road).

Tips
- The access road is narrow and steep in places: a scooter or a car with ground clearance is fine. Swimming is possible in calm seas, but ask about currents and do not go far out. Bring water, sunscreen and cash. For a day in the east, combine with the Lempuyang Gates of Heaven, the Tirta Gangga water palace or Amed: the tour in our selection covers Lempuyang and Besakih, and a driver can add the beach stop (private driver).
How to get there
Virgin Beach is about 2 to 2.5 hours from Ubud and the airport (estimate, depending on traffic), near Karangasem, between Tirta Gangga and Amed. By car with a driver, or by scooter for experienced riders.
