Why Jimbaran
Jimbaran is a long sandy bay in the south, 15-20 minutes from the airport according to one guide. In the evening the seafood restaurants set up on the beach: see Jimbaran beach and the seafood dinner. It is also a good base for Uluwatu and for the Garuda Wisnu Kencana park.
The drawbacks
- No walkable nightlife as in Seminyak or Canggu: evenings out mean a taxi (Grab and Gojek in Bali).
- The big hotels are expensive and the bay is quiet by day.
- Cliff properties such as Ayana sometimes need a shuttle to reach the beach. We did not find the Keraton Jimbaran Puri in our sources: do not count on it.
How to choose and book
- Family: InterContinental or Ayana, for the kids' club and pools.
- Couple: Four Seasons or Ayana.
- Small budget: compare simpler hotels from around 18 USD. Compare the price with taxes and breakfast and read recent reviews. For other areas, see where to stay in Bali and from the airport.
