Padangbai and its bay

The snorkelling
Clear water, small fish and coral near the edge; equipment, guide and often lunch are included in the packages. The level required is low, but wear a life jacket if you are a weak swimmer.
Practical info
Tips
- Choose between three packages. Snorkelling only (the cheapest, about 45 USD with lunch and pick-up according to one listing): simplest if you love the water. Snorkelling plus private transfer (about 59 USD): comfort if you stay far from Ubud or Sanur. Snorkelling plus waterfalls (about 78 to 135 USD): a long day, to book if you want to see everything. For other snorkelling spots, see Manta Point at Nusa Penida. Ask the boat whether equipment is included and the real time in the water.
How to get there
Padangbai is about 1 hour from Ubud and 1.5 hours from Denpasar, according to one listing (estimate, depending on traffic). The simplest is a tour with pick-up; otherwise a driver to the port, then the local boat.
