The weather

The rainy season ends without a fixed date: early March looks like February, late March is often drier, with bright mornings and afternoon showers. Rice fields are still very green. Crowds and prices

Three dates matter in March 2027. Nyepi, Monday 8 March: the island stops for about 24 hours, the airport is closed and everyone stays in their hotel; plan no arrival or departure that day (details in Nyepi 2027). Eid al-Fitr, around 10 and 11 March: public holidays per the decree, busy roads and ferries. Easter, 28 March: start of spring holidays for several countries.   • Eve of Nyepi: ogoh-ogoh parades in the villages on the evening of 7 March according to guides; ask your accommodation.
