The summary

| Mode | Time | Fare found | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private car | About 1 h | About IDR 300,000 (18 USD) for the car | Luggage, a group of 2 to 4 |
| Perama shuttle | About 1 h 30 | IDR 170,000, one departure around 11:30 per one guide | Small budget, fixed schedule |
| Grab / Gojek | About 1 h | No fare found | From a point outside central Ubud |
| Scooter | Varies | Daily rental | Experienced riders, little luggage |
Which option to pick
With luggage, the simplest is a private car, booked ahead or through the hotel; see private driver in Bali. The Perama shuttle is the cheapest, dropping at Pepito Market in Canggu, but there is one departure a day: check the schedule. The Kura-Kura bus serves Kuta, the airport and Ubud, not Ubud-Canggu. For a scooter, see scooter rental in Bali.
The traps
- Grab and Gojek may refuse central Ubud: walk to a street outside it (Grab and Gojek in Bali).
- Traffic is heavy, especially late in the day: leave a margin before a flight.
- Check the price in advance and what it includes (tolls, luggage).
Once you arrive
To sleep: where to stay in Canggu or where to stay in Seminyak. From the airport: airport transfer.
