Tukad Cepung Waterfall (Bali): price, light beams, opening hours and access
Tukad Cepung is a waterfall hidden at the bottom of a narrow canyon in the Bangli area, east of Ubud: water falls through an opening in the rock, and in the morning sun rays cross the cave. It is one of Bali's most sought-after photos, so there is a queue for the picture. Allow 1 to 1.5 hours on site. According to guides consulted in October 2026, entry costs about 15,000 to 30,000 IDR, cash only (one guide adds a local guide at 50,000 IDR); open from about 7:00 or 8:00 to 18:00. No official source found: confirm at the entrance.
Highlights

The fall under the light
You arrive after walking through a narrow rock corridor, feet in the water. The light beams are best between about 9:00 and 11:00 according to several guides (another says 10:00 to 14:00), especially in the dry season.
The walk through the canyon
You walk in a shallow stream and cross rocks: bring water shoes. To combine with other falls, see the waterfalls of Bali and Kanto Lampo.

Tips
- Come before the crowd: queues for the photo form from late morning. Bring water shoes, quick-drying clothes and a waterproof bag; the stones are slippery. Avoid the site after heavy rain. To avoid driving, see private driver in Bali; for a day, see Ubud in one day: which tour to choose.
How to get there
Tukad Cepung is about 1 hour from Ubud by car (estimate), in the Bangli area. Most visitors come with a driver or a tour linking several waterfalls.
