Aling-Aling Waterfall (Sambangan, North Bali): jumping, price, opening hours and access

Updated on October 25, 2026

Aling-Aling waterfall is in Sambangan, near Sukasada, in the Buleleng area of North Bali. It is known for its natural slides and jumps into pools, on a short trail of four falls (Kroya, Kembar, Pucuk and Aling-Aling). Allow 1.5 to 2 hours. Guides consulted in October 2026 give an entrance fee of about 20,000 IDR (one blog says 10,000) from 8 am to 5 pm; jumps and slides with a guide cost extra, with huge differences between sources (from 125,000 to 300,000 IDR for the package). No official source: confirm on site.

We have no free photo of Aling-Aling; Sekumpul is in the same northern jungle area (distance not verified) and is reached on foot.

The jumps

According to guides, Kroya has a jump of about 5 m from a plank, Kembar of 10 to 15 m; Pucuk has no jump. The main Aling-Aling fall is not open for jumping. The natural slide is the most popular part. Jump only with a local guide, after checking the depth of the pool.

The trail

The path between the falls is a little slippery, with steps and ropes. To compare with other Bali waterfalls, see the waterfalls of Bali and Sekumpul waterfall.

Practical info

Tips

  • Bring river shoes, a swimsuit and a towel, and leave your phone and valuables in a waterproof bag. Sources contradict each other on whether a guide is required: one says it is mandatory, another that "guides" wrongly claim it. Ask the price of the package before starting, in local currency, and negotiate it. Do not jump after rain (water level, currents). A North Bali outing combines Aling-Aling well with Munduk and Sekumpul; see also private driver in Bali.

How to get there

Aling-Aling is about 2 h 30 to 3 h from Ubud (estimate) and under an hour from Lovina (estimate). It is a North Bali outing destination: a private driver is recommended, or a night in Munduk or Lovina to avoid a round trip in one day.

Opening hours

Best: Morning, from opening
Every day, 8 am to 5 pm according to most sources (one says 24 hours). Entry about 20, 000 IDR (one blog: 10,000); jumps and guide extra, from 125, 000 to 300, 000 IDR depending on sources (unofficial, to be confirmed on site).
