Berawa Beach in Canggu: Beach Clubs, Surf Lessons, Swimming and Hotels

Updated on October 25, 2026

Berawa is Canggu's beach on the Seminyak side, airier than Batu Bolong and dominated by beach clubs: Finns sits on the Berawa wave. Beach access is free. Beginner surf lessons here cost about 22 to 26 USD (GetYourGuide listings, October 2026). Beach clubs are free to enter but often require a minimum spend for a reserved seat. No official source consulted: prices and hours to confirm.

The Berawa beach clubs

The Berawa beach clubs

Finns Beach Club is described as one of Asia's big clubs: a 30 m infinity pool with a swim-up bar according to one guide (four pools and nine bars according to another), DJs in the evening, opening around 10:00 or 11:00 depending on sources. Entry is free, a minimum spend applies to day beds, which are best booked for sunset. See Finns Beach Club and Atlas Beach Club.

The surf

The Berawa wave suits beginner lessons with a board and transfer from Canggu; see surf lessons in Canggu.

The sunset walk

The beach is wide and can be walked towards Batu Bolong: a free alternative to the clubs.

Practical info

Tips

  • Berawa is less "backpacker" than Batu Bolong and closer to Seminyak: choose it for modern, quieter hotels (where to stay in Canggu). Book the club ahead in high season. To compare all clubs, see Bali beach clubs. We found no reliable source on beach supervision: swim with care, surf creates currents.

How to get there

Berawa is about 30 to 40 minutes from the airport and 15 to 20 minutes from Seminyak (estimate, heavy traffic). Scooter, Grab/Gojek or driver; see Grab and Gojek in Bali.

Opening hours

Best: Late afternoon, sunset
Beach open access; clubs open from 10:00 or 11:00 until the evening according to sources
to confirm.
