The Campuhan Ridge Walk is a free walk along a ridge between two valleys, west of central Ubud: a path of about 2 km (1.7 to 2.7 km depending on the source) lined with tall grass, coconut palms and rice fields. There is no ticket and no opening time: the path is accessible all day. Allow 1 to 1.5 hours one way (20 to 30 minutes if you walk fast with few stops) and about 2 to 2.5 hours for the round trip. Guide information, October 2026, with no official source.
Highlights

The path on the ridge
A narrow paved path following the ridge, with wooded valleys on either side. The view opens up within the first few minutes.

Green hills and rice fields
As you go, you see big slopes of grass, terraced rice fields and villages in the distance. The path has almost no shade, which brings light but also heat.
The start near the temple
The start is west of the centre, on Jalan Raya Campuhan, near the Pura Gunung Lebah temple (a "Going to the Hill" sign). At the far end, the path reaches a village with cafés.

Tips
- Come early or in the late afternoon: the sun is strong and shade is scarce, so bring a hat, water and sunscreen. Wear shoes that grip, as in the rainy season the path can be slippery in places. Have a coffee in the village at the end and come back the same way, or by motorbike taxi. The walk combines with the Neka museum (about 10 minutes by car), the Ubud art market and Ubud. For more rice fields, see the Tegallalang rice terraces.
How to get there
The start is about 15 to 20 minutes' walk from central Ubud (estimate); or by car, scooter or taxi to Jalan Raya Campuhan. See Ubud and private driver in Bali.
