Tegenungan Waterfall: ticket price, opening hours and best time to visit
Tegenungan Waterfall is a drop of about fifteen metres in the jungle of Sukawati, south of Ubud, with a pool where you can swim. It is one of the easiest waterfalls to reach around Ubud, which explains the crowds. Plan on about 20,000 to 30,000 rupiah per adult (30,000 according to a reply from the site on Tripadvisor in April 2026), open daily from about 6:30 to 18:30, and one hour on site. Information found in October 2026 in guides, with no official source: confirm at the gate.
Highlights

The fall seen from above
A viewpoint overlooks the fall and the wooded valley. It is the best place for the wide photo, before going down.

The pool at the foot of the fall
A staircase leads down to the pool, where people swim. The rocks are slippery and the current near the fall can be strong: be careful, especially after rain.
Other things on site
Cafés, a swing and a glass bridge are offered around the site, with a supplement according to one guide (not confirmed). To combine it with the Tirta Empul temple and the Tegallalang rice terraces, see Ubud in one day: which tour to choose.
Practical info
Tips
- The ticket is paid in cash at the entrance; scooter parking is given as about 5,000 rupiah. The staircase down is steep and you must climb back up: bring good sandals or water shoes, swimwear and a towel, and a waterproof pouch for your phone. It is crowded in the middle of the day and in the photos. Guides say the site closes for Nyepi, the Day of Silence. To explore from Ubud, see Ubud and private driver in Bali. Unofficial prices, to confirm on site.
How to get there
The waterfall is at Sukawati, about 25 to 40 minutes by car from central Ubud depending on traffic (estimate). Most visitors come with a driver or a tour; a scooter is possible for confident riders.
